Women’s right to Land and food security in post conflict Rwanda

With support from BLF, ACORD Rwanda embarked on a project to champion women’s rights to land and food security in post-conflict Rwanda. Indeed, in Rwanda, it is estimated that over 500,000 women-headed households live on subsistence farming. Arable land is becoming scarcer and its management is uncertain, especially since the land belongs to state.

Linking climate change, trade and food security to agroprocessing development

The overall objective of the PACT EAC2 project is based on the established premise that gains from agriculture, which is the largest employer and income and hard currency generator in the EAC can be boosted through value addition, the project’s overall objective is “East African national, regional and multilateral stakeholders pursue the inclusion of climate change, food security and trade concerns in their policy efforts to develop agro-processing in the region”.

Nous voulons que le Conseil des Ministres africains mette en place cette politique harmonisée afin que l’Afrique cesse de demeurer le marché de ce qui est fabriqué ailleurs. Notre continent dispose de son agriculture, de ses propres ressources naturelles.
